Flora Chan (陳慧珊) was secretly married to her manager, Mike Chung (鍾家鴻) in America in 2006 and stopped her work temporarily in 2007 due to expecting. Her daughter, Mire Chung (鐘律然) is currently 10 years old in the blink of an eye. Mike was rumoured to file for bankruptcy around 2011 or 2012 and Flora was forced to make a comeback as a result. Flora chose to pursue her Master’s Degree in Hong Kong school and will complete her professor course in 3 years time. She also revealed she will be staying in Hong Kong for the next 10 years, hoping to make contributions in education industry and her daughter will study in Hong Kong.
47 year old Flora told East Week (東周網): “I am a mother now and turning 50 year old soon. I guess I suit little roles and need to open another door if opportunity fails to arrive. I have drafted a movie script which is related to my life and a movie company is very interested. I have even planned the cast team but the female lead resigns from the role due to health problem and I shelve it aside for now.”
Flora expressed that she wished her daughter’s knowledge will enriched through playing and East Week saw Flora and her family at Causeway Bay a few days ago. She kept explaining the surroundings to Mira while holding her hand at the street. Flora wore a dark brown spectacle with an old-fashioned outfit and it made her looked older by more than 10 years. In addition, her orange vest jacket reduced her fashion sense to a further extent. It is uncertain if the reason is Flora seldom makes any public appearance but looking at her holding Mira’s hand, it is obvious they are a happy family.
