Many artistes migrate to overseas in recent years. Mandy Chiang (蔣雅文) is one of them whom relocated to Taiwan to set up a business around 10 years ago and was married to her business partner, while Gallen Lo (羅嘉良) moved to Beijing with his wife, Yan Su (羅嘉良) in order to work conveniently. However due to the air pollution problem, Gallen and his family migrated to Sanya, China in 2017.

A few days ago, the news source confirmed Benz Hui (許紹雄) relocated to Singapore and stayed in Yishun north after his contract with TVB ended in February 2018. The MP of Yishun area, Lee Bee Wah (李美花) shared a photo taken with Benz on Facebook and left a message: “Guess which Hong Kong TVB star will be our resident soon??”

Many celebrities usually choose East Coast or posh districts when moving over to Singapore and most tend to avoid Yishun which is famous for weird incidents. Some Singapore netizens even classified Yishun as “curse” city and ever wonder what is the reason behind it?

Yishun cat deaths begun to happen since 2015 and 7 cats were killed within 12 days from 24th September to 5th October. The cat deaths also attracted the attention of BBC and continued to occur despite capturing the killer in the same year. In addition, Yishun has high level of criminal offences and frequent supernatural encounters. Thus, many Singaporeans choose to live in other areas and some netizen point the weird behaviours in Yishun.

During an interview with Singapore media, Benz revealed he met his wife in Singapore when working in 1980s and his daughter was a Singaporean. It was expected that he chose to live his retired life there since Benz had properties in Hong Kong and Singapore. As for the myths related to Yishun, the authority decided to release the figures from 2010 to 2016 which showed Yishun was not the highest level for criminal offences. In recent years, it was reduced by 55% and Yishun was ranked 18th from 36th areas. As for Yishun north, it was ranked at 29th and showed that the district was considered safe, and not as scary as pointed by the netizens.
