41 years old Lee San San (李珊珊) made the last public appearance at a charity event for bicycles sales at Shanghai in October 2011 and begun to interact with the public again through social media by uploading her selfie in a mask on Weibo in 2017. Although she denied about suffering from brain tumour and depression in the same year, but San San indeed had health problem and eczema gave her a big headache.
On 22nd February 2019, San San finally made another appearance at a charity musical session (誌友共聚) organised by the Chairman, Vinci Wong (王賢誌) of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (東華三院). Despite disappearing mysteriously for 7 years, she was willing to share her health condition and described the mental pain was worse than physical pain, other than introducing the services provided by the hospital: “During these few years, it is extremely suffering and I rely on myself without sympathy from anyone. It is a bumpy road and the mental pain is worse than physical pain. A patient needs someone for accompany and must be brave to face their own health condition. I understand not all illnesses have a cure but we must be strong in order to walk out from this road. I hope the patients will cherish their time and stop complaining regardless of no cure for the illness.”
