Jacqueline Wong (黃心穎) and Andy Hui (許志安) were forced to stop their work immediately after their scandal was exposed in mid April 2019. She escaped to Los Angeles to pursue her studies while Andy continued to isolate himself and his work remained suspended, after making an apology at a press conference.
Based on a news source on 26th May, there was a breach of contract as all advertisements such as fashion and contact lenses endorsed by Jacqueline were removed after the scandal happened. The clients were rumoured to seek huge amount of compensation due to her tarnished image. In addition, Jacqueline’s new drama including Forensic Heroes IV (法證先鋒IV) and Finding Her Voice (牛下女高音) were required to re-shoot and TVB was pointed to demand $30 million compensation from her. Somebody suggested Jacqueline to apply for bankruptcy and TVB Executive, Ms Virginia Lok (樂易玲) replied to Ming Pao (明報): “It is nonsense.”
As for Andy, he was slightly luckier as his good friend, Dicky Cheung (張衛健) and he were supposed to perform for 4 sessions at a cruise, but Dicky agreed to act as his replacement and sing solo so that Andy could avoid paying compensation. It is highly likely that other singer will be taking over since Andy had cancelled his concert at Hong Kong Coliseum in September.
