On 24th July 2019, Simon Yam (任達華) was discharged from the hospital and returned home for resting after the attack in Zhongshan a few days ago. In the same afternoon, he reported his safety online and shared photo of his injured fingers and a white teddy bear. Simon left a message: “We are home now!” He also tagged his wife, Qi Qi (琦琦).
Subsequently, Qi Qi updated her Weibo account and the same teddy bear appeared in the photo: “It is long and suffering for the past few days. Fortunately, Simon remains positive and gives us confidence and energy. Simon is finally discharged from the hospital today and we are finally home. Thank you for the meticulous care from the medical team and the supports from his boss, Albert Yeung (楊受成), all staff, friends and the reporters. Simon will be continuing the treatment and I believe he will see everybody soon. I feel grateful and thank you again.”
In the morning on 24th July, Qi Qi returned home from the hospital first and waited with her daughter, Ella Yam (任晴佳) for Simon to come back. She said to Apple Daily HK (蘋果): “Ella went to the supermarket to buy grocery and prepare lunch for her father personally. She cooks fish, vegetables and fruit dessert for Simon.” Because of his injury, they had to cancel the vacation to Hawaii and Qi Qi said: “We will accompany Simon and hope he will recover quickly. Unity is important and a family equals to positive energy.”
In addition, Simon’s injury caused a heavy impact to his work schedule. EEG Executive, Mani Fok (霍汶希) replied to Apple Daily HK that the promotion campaign for Little Q (小Q) had begun and the movie company decided to postpone the airing period to September, until Simon’s condition showed improvement. As for his workload, Simon was supposed to shoot two advertisements on 30th July and beginning of August and it was postponed as well. As for the filming of the new movie was scheduled next month, they would make a decision depending on the speed of his recovery.
