After “On Sum” scandal was exposed in April 2019, it shocked the whole world and Andy Hui (許志安) held a press conference to apologise to his wife, Sammi Cheng (鄭秀文) and it was a big blow to her, when preparing her upcoming concert at Hong Kong Coliseum at the time. Earlier, she was rumoured to move out from their house and many fans gave her encouragements upon choosing to forgive her husband and walk out from the pain. Sammi sang in her tip top condition and Andy also turned up to show his support personally.

Sammi expressed she would be going for holidays with her friend after the concert and beat around the bush when asked about her husband. On 29th July 2019, she shared a video clip of the celebration party on Instagram and said: “Feel very happy as many people offer to help me. Thank you to everyone including the audiences. All of us put in efforts and we finally complete the task successfully. I feel overjoyed and thank you.”

Subsequently, Sammi explained that she cried because of her emotions and not feeling upset. She felt she became more mature and calm for the past few months and her inner heart had reached another stage. Sammi was determined to walk out from her comfort zone: “Is it risk, challenge or I am asking for it? Challenging a difficult road? Whatever it is, I have done it and chosen my favourite peach blossom garden and there is no regret at all. Life consists of risks and there is ups and downs……” Her good friends such as Jill Vidal (衛詩), Janice Vidal (衛蘭), Raymond Wong (黃浩然), Sharon Chan (陳敏之) and Mark Lui’s (雷頌德) wife, Jade Lui (梁家玉) complimented Sammi and it was perfect.

As Sammi lost her voice in her previous concert, it caused a phobia to hold another concert this time as she did not want to disappoint the audiences again. In addition with “On Sum” scandal, she suffered from tremendous pressure and it was normal to have tears at the celebration party.

Finally, Sammi reminded the reason for inviting Louis Koo (古天樂) to the concert and said: “It feels weird whenever Louis is absent from the concert and resembles to going to the toilet with toilet papers. Anyway, just kidding! I feel very grateful to him for turning up at my concert and everyone feels happy to see him.”
