Because of the 2019 Hong Kong anti-extradition bill (逃犯條例), the citizens decided to form work, school and market strikes on 5th August 2019. As a former delegate in Hong Kong, Liza Wang (汪明荃) turned up at an event (八和粵劇學院課程匯報演出) at Ko Shan Theatre (高山劇院) as the chairman on 3rd August. When mentioned about the work strike on 5th August, Liza said: “It is bad but I understand it. Hopefully everything will be back to normal and I can see some people want a peaceful society.”

As for another “ah jie”, Carol Cheng (鄭裕玲) and Jim Yan (少爺占) who hosted the show (口水多過浪花) on weekdays were pointed to apply leave based on business and personal reasons from the company. On 4th August, the relevant department confirmed to Apple Daily HK (蘋果) that Carol had applied leave on the following day.

As for the two filming partners, Alton Yu (余迪偉) and Maria Tang (麻利亞), they announced they had joined the activity (罷咪行列) with Kitty Yuen (阮小儀), Donald, Jessica and others earlier. Finally, Sammy Leung (森美) who paid attention to the political news all along had left Hong Kong and shared photos of himself at the airport a few days ago. He left a message: “Travelling now! It is nearer when faraway.” The programme (在晴朗的一天出發) hosted by Jan Lamb (林海峰), Pan Xiaotao (潘小濤) and Ken Yuen (阮子健) continues as normal.
