Hong Kong strikes were commenced on 5th August 2019 and Chapman To (杜汶澤) had announced that he would fire any staff working on that day in advance. Despite going on strike, but he continues to monitor the news. As for Carrie Lam (林鄭月娥), she went on a “strike” after meeting the media on 22nd July and finally “resumed” her work by holding a press conference on 5th August. However, the contents were the same and she failed to respond to the five demands raised by the citizens.
Hence, it made Chapman furious and he posted three message on Facebook within an hour. He said: “We must point out the opposite party’s mistakes and make them do reflections. A couple will only do that after an argument and Hong Kong people are not her husband!” A columnist (高慧然) left a message: “It will be good if they are her husband and can file for divorce!” Chapman then posted another two messages: “I assume she is going to announce that the police force is going to implement curfew from today onward but turn out to hold press conference everyday instead. I almost stop breathing! Thank you to Carrie Lam for rooting us and see you later!” Subsequently, he joined in the gathering at Tin Hau Temple Fung Shui Square (天后宮風水球場) in Tai Po.
Besides that, Denise Ho (何韻詩) shared the press conference held by Carrie and left a message on Facebook: “I must post this today.” She also hashtag: “#the mother of Hong Kong #continuing the revolution in Hong Kong #that is what she said and not me” Lastly, radio DJ, Josephine Ng (朱薰) participated in the strikes and responded on Instagram: “It is best that you do not come out if you have no intention to resolve the problems and make it worse.”
