Because of the ongoing protests in Hong Kong, Alan Tam (譚詠麟) and Kenny Bee (鍾鎮濤) showed their supports at the police force event and Miriam Yeung (楊千嬅), Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼), Ada Choi (蔡少芬) and her husband, Max Zhang (張晉) pledged their loyalties to China on Weibo. Many artistes who are working in China also expressed their stands.

At night on 15th August 2019, Sheren Tang (鄧萃雯) forwarded the news article from CCTV (則央) on Weibo and posted a message: “I love China and Hong Kong. I feel proud of being a China citizen and it is hard to find a sense of belonging upon pursuing studies in overseas in the past. There is no perfect place in the world and it relies on the efforts from the citizens. I wish there is peace in China and Hong Kong and let’s continue to move forward. #protect Hong Kong”

As for Ada’s good friends, Monica Chan (陳法蓉) and Athena Chu (朱茵), Monica forwarded the news report from CCTV on Weibo and left a message: “I love China and Hong Kong. Hope the peace is restored in Hong Kong.” Athena also made the same move and posted a message: “I love China and Hong Kong especially the peace!” However, many netizens remarked the goddess loved money such as CNY and HKD. Some doubted if the Facebook account belonged to Athena and even asked her: “Boundless oceans, vast skies (海闊天空)?” Lastly, her husband, Paul Wong (黃貫中) had no response until now.
