Lately, rumours of Ali Lee (李佳芯) is “frozen” by TVB are rampant and it could be because of her online messages and some netizens tried to link to Hong Kong protests and blow the matter up. Subsequently on Weibo, Ali made a clarification: “With regards to Hong Kong secession, it does not exist in my mind and heart at all. Never in the past and now!” It won supports from many netizens.

As we assumed the issue was resolved, but gossips related to TVB new drama, Death by Zero (殺手) starring two movie kings, Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) and Moses Chan (陳豪) and Ali were suspended. Wayne said: “I have no idea about the broadcasting date and the copyright is sold to Mainland China. I believe it is airing together at the same time and should be quite soon.” The film producer, Joe Chan (陳維冠) replied that he did not receive any notification and was clueless about the airing date. In addition, TVB was rumoured to remove Ali as the female lead in Who Wants A Baby 2 (BB來了2) and Legal Mavericks 2 (踩過界2) drama. The cast team and script in Who Wants A Baby 2 series would be entirely different. As the male lead, Chris Lai (黎諾懿) said: “Because of the clash schedule in two drama, the filming is postponed to February 2020. (Heard that Ali is removed?) No idea.” The film producer, Lam Chi Wah (林志華) for Legal Mavericks 2 series had not responded until now.

After the location shooting for Amelia’s Rhapsody (愛美麗狂想) drama on 20th August 2019, Ali accepted an interview from HK01 (香港01) thereafter. When asked about the rumours related to “frozen” by TVB, Ali said: “Death by Zero series is suspended? I am totally clueless. (Your female lead roles in Who Wants A Baby 2 and Legal Mavericks 2 drama are replaced too?) No idea. I will be “frozen” and not shooting Amelia’s Rhapsody series now if it is true. Anyway, I doubt it and the company makes the final decision about the broadcasting period. (Could it be due to your online message earlier?) I do not think so and have no argument with anyone online. (Continue to post messages online?) It is very tiring at times and I tend to share my thoughts and feelings about my work though. (It might mark the end of your career?) It does not cross my mind. I will continue to do my part well and leave it to the company to decide. It is not within my control anyway.”

According to the information, Ali joined TVB in 2012 and was given minority roles initially. Within 7 years, she was heavily groomed and became TV Queen based on Who Wants A Baby drama last year. In conclusion, Ali’s acting skills is recognised by the public and her fans will definitely continue to support her.
