After “On Sum” (安心事件) scandal between Jacqueline Wong (黃心穎) and Andy Hui (許志安) happened in April 2019 that shocked the whole world, she posted a public apology on Instagram and stopped all her work before escaping to the US. As for her elder sister, Scarlett Wong (黃心美), she was also implicated and reprimanded by the netizens on her Instagram account. Her reputation was pointed to be completely tarnished which led to the break up with her billionaire boyfriend, Justin Ma (馬桂烽).
After more than 5 months, Scarlett finally met the media again and hosted Hong Kong Open TV show with Wang Yi Xing (王貽興) at Wan Chai on 6th September. When mentioned about the news source related to the separation with her boyfriend during an interview, she appeared nervous and said: “My manager has replied on my behalf once the news article is released. My answer is the same and I have no reply as it is my personal affair.”
Checking if Jacqueline was pursuing her studies in America, Scarlett replied she was currently in overseas: “It is confidential and I will support her as her elder sister regardless of the mistakes that she has made. (How is her current mood as Ms Virginia Lok (樂易玲) revealed Jacqueline felt depressed earlier?) Ups and downs. It is a big mistake and she needs to learn to face the problem and bear the responsibility. (Will Jacqueline be returning to Hong Kong?) I have no idea and she has no answer too. Hopefully she will face everybody when ready and you can stop asking me by then. Her scandal did create problems to our family and our parent are worried about four of us all along. We will face the problem together and try to forget about the unhappiness.”
Scarlett added the incident increased their unity as a family: “It is a learning experience everyday and enables me to see things clearly. Thank you for the supports from my family and friends. (The netizens “attacked” you as Jacqueline disabled the comment feature?) It does not matter. I am not the one who makes mistake and let them vent the frustrations. Haters gonna hate and I will definitely help Jacqueline as her elder sister.”
When asked if she felt embarrassed upon bumping into Andy Hui (許志安), Sammi Cheng (鄭秀文) and Kenneth Ma (馬國明) in the future, Scarlett said: “It does not cross my mind and I will not avoid them. You can ask me about my mood again at a later time.”
As for her filming partner, Yi Xing, he would be introducing the stuff that men loved to collect in the show and shooting ViuTV new drama in end 2019: “It is a dancing series and MIRROR group has many members. What matters most is to conduct a recruitment drive and attract more girls.”
