Earlier, the general manager, Daryl Morey (莫利) of an American professional basketball team, Houston Rockets (候斯頓火箭) showed his support for Hong Kong which caused dissatisfaction from Chinese netizens. Many citizens boycotted the team in Mainland China and Chinese Media Company (中央廣播電視) made an announcement to stop broadcasting overseas matches related to Houston Rockets.

As a basketball lover, Edison Chen (陳冠希) is “attacked” as well because of his clothing company collaborated with another firm to release a top related to Yao Ming (姚明) working for Houston Rockets previously. At the time, he wore no. 11 top and Edison uploaded the photo on Weibo and Instagram on 27th September 2019. It won compliments from many netizens.

After several days later, many netizens urged Edison to remove the photo and message quickly. Some even said: “Houston Rockets insulted China and please delete the message! Are you ready to stop selling the top?” However, the photo remained in Edison’s account on Weibo until the afternoon on 9th October.
