Hong Kong protests are ongoing and China has started to boycott Hong Kong artistes and staff. According to the news source, China authority had ordered majority of the agencies and online video streaming websites to refrain from using Hong Kong artistes and backend staff and replace with Chinese artistes.
Based on the list presented from Central Propaganda Department (中宣部), there is a group of Hong Kong celebrities including Jackie Chan (成龍), Donnie Yen (甄子丹), Andy Lau (劉德華), Tony Leung (梁家輝), Simon Yam (任達華), Alan Tam (譚詠麟) and Kara Hui (惠英紅) pledging their loyalties to China and allowing to pursue their careers over there.
Although Gallen Lo (羅嘉良) migrates to Beijing for many years, but he does not really show his support for China when celebrating the national day (熱烈慶祝新中國成立70周年) on Weibo on 1st October 2019. He is supposed to film Chinese period drama (如意芳霏) directed by Lam Kin Lun (林健龍), Bryan Chen (陳國華) and (林國華) in mid September. Before travelling to Hengdian, Gallen felt extremely mad upon receiving a call from the executive producer about his replacement because of the pressure from the investors not to use Hong Kong artiste.
In addition, another Hong Kong actor Lee Yiu Ging (李耀敬) who worked together with Aaron Kwok (郭富城) and Anita Lee (李婉華) was ousted. Apple Daily HK (蘋果) tried to contact Gallen and Yiu Ging, but both did not have any responses until now.
