TVB actress Ashley Chu (朱智賢) is exposed for having an affair with married man, Jackson Lai (黎振燁) and holds a press conference with “cuckold hero” aka “good friend” Brian Tse (謝東閔) after that. As such, both sides attract criticisms.
As Ashley has 3 new drama which have yet to air, TVB is forced to think of an immediate solution for her. According to Apple Daily HK (蘋果), Ms Virginia Lok (樂易玲) and her team drafted the scripts for Ashley and Brian but it failed to convince the public. Hence on 1st May, TVB uploaded a short video clip lasted around 30 seconds and explained Ashley putting in efforts on her work through its Facebook page, so as to hope everyone will give her a chance again.
In the video clip, Ashley describes about her working experiences and determination after participating in Ms Hong Kong pageant. In recent years, her hard work starts to pay off and she is given opportunities in the advertising industry, and hopes the scandal will not affect her career. However, it is slammed by the netizens immediately after uploading the video clip and they pointed her acting career is completely gone.
Ever wonder why does Jacqueline Wong (黃心穎) is not given the same privilege after “On Sum” (安心事件) scandal happens last year? Evidently, she has higher fame than Ashley. It turns out that it is because of film producer, Jimmy (張志明) for Fun Abroad (3日2夜) program and he is a favourite staff of Sandy Yu (余詠珊). Apparently, Ashley uses 3 methods including flirting, acting innocent and making Jimmy happy. Hence, he arranges her in Fun Abroad and an adventure show (天與地).
In addition, Ashley is rumoured to throw her temper and refused to shoot when she needed to explore a sinkhole with Mayanne Mak (麥美恩) in Guangxi earlier. As the camera equipment drops to the lake, Jimmy has to travel to Guanxi immediately, resolve the issue and console Ashley at the same time. It is obvious that he treats her very well. Finally in order to salvage her career, Jimmy orders to record a video clip to root for Ashley but it shows an adverse result instead.
