Taiwanese celebrity Show Lo’s (羅志祥) old love, Grace Chow (周揚青) ended their relationship after exposing his infidelity and true colours. His image is completely tarnished and he decides not to call for a press conference eventually. On 8th May, Show is discovered to return to Taiwan and his manager is rumoured to use Gillian Chung’s (鍾欣潼) divorce news to change the public’s attention which becomes a successful tactic.
On 20th May, Show posted a long text consisting of 7000 words to apologise to Grace again on Weibo: “Sorry again. I know I am in the wrong.” Although he appears to make a sincere apology, but some netizens pointed Show failed to hold Grace’s hand while taking a roller coaster ride. Hence, they urged Grace to ignore him as his main motive was to salvage his career.
On the following day, Show uploaded many photos of GOTNOFEARS and announced there was new stocks arrival at the shop through Instagram. The sales will begin on 23rd May and he asked: “Can We Restart 2020? Will the world be better if we can start all over again in 2020?” It is obvious that Show is trying to save his career since the quarantine period will be ending on 23rd May.
In his message, Show also made use of the virus period to boost the sales revenue in his shop and said: “The world is indeed full of uncertainty. Who can predict a deadly virus changes the world? 2020 allows people to slow down the pace, test the human nature and make self-reflection. Imagine a time machine is placed in front of you but you need courage regardless of pressing the buttons. Please do not let the fear destroy your life and we must believe tomorrow will be a better day. Stay Safe Got No Fears!”
In addition, Show’s popularity is reduced drastically in Mainland China and Taiwan after the scandal. As he is removed from the shows, Go Fighting 6 (極限挑戰) and Produce Camp 2020 (創造2020), it is believed that Show suffers from heavy financial losses.
