Hera Chan (陳曉華) plays the second female lead in TVB new drama, On-Lie Game (迷網) which is currently broadcasting. She acts as a police inspector named Denise and solves cases such as frauds and scams with her superior, Matt Yeung (楊明). As the netizens criticise her acting skills, Hera posted an emotional message on Instagram on 19th July: “The shooting takes 3 months and I always read my script once feeling energetic. I know I am a newcomer and have flaws. I give my full efforts and try to learn as much as I can. Thank you for the 3 months guidances.”

However, Hera’s text fails to win the netizens’ supports and they said: “You have the worst acting skills among the newcomers and it is obvious that you are trying to memorise the script while performing. The child actor acts better than you and you have no talent at all. You should either go back or join acting skills classes first.”

Hence, Hera responded about the criticisms during the interview with HK01 (香港01): “I will take it as compliments and it serves as a motivation. I know I have flaws and will try to improve my performance. I watch the drama every night to discover my weaknesses and hopefully there is some improvements soon. (The netizens pointed you speak with a lisp?) Nope. I am trying my best to speak fluently but it is hard to pronounce correctly. (They said you lack of talent in acting?) Yes. I feel too nervous and hope to see improvements soon. (Unable to accept it?) Nope.”
