Jacqueline Wong (黃心穎) is “frozen” by TVB since the “On Sum scandal” (安心事件) is exposed. Earlier, TVB is rumoured to terminate her 8 years contract because of her tarnished image but decide not to release her now. Thus, Jacqueline continues to have zero income.
When asked about Jacqueline’s update at an opening ceremony of Steven Ma’s (馬浚偉) tuition centre on 19th January, TVB Executive Ms Virginia Lok (樂易玲) said: “I keep in contact with her all along and we went out for breakfast together last week. She is alright. (Does Jacqueline want to make an on-screen comeback?) We did discuss it and she has no intention yet. She feels happy and remains very fit during the virus period.”
Checking if Jacqueline wished to continue her acting career, Ms Lok said: “We did not really have an in-depth discussion and I do not want to give her any pressure. However, I told her to think about her career seriously and she will make a decision. When an artiste signs a long contract, he/she must think about the consequences before leaving: “I am concerned about her and will ask about her plans if she decides to leave.”
When asked if Jacqueline required to pay any monetary compensation since signing a long contract, Ms Lok said: “Nope. Her departure is not because of joining another company. Jacqueline is still young and I believe she has made some good plans. She makes a mistake and I will try my best to help her. (Will TVB allow her to film drama if she wishes to stay?) Will you support her new series? It is meaningless if the public cannot accept her until now. It has been nearly 2 years and she is living an ordinary life now. Kenneth Ma (馬國明) feels happy and finds a good partner, but still has to handle it.”
Finally, Jacqueline responded to the media: “I have no reply about my work. Will update everybody if any news. Thank you for the concern.”
