49-year-old Anita Yuen (袁詠儀) and her husband Julian Cheung (張智霖) have a son named Morton Cheung (張智霖) and have a blissful family. Morton is currently 14 year old and the public has been speculating that Anita wishes to have another child to accompany her son, but it is unsuccessful for many years. On 10th April, Anita and 3 guests were invited to TVB new show, Mama’s Day (日日媽媽聲) hosted by Candice Yu, Grace Chan (陳凱琳) and Mimi Lo (羅敏莊).
Anita disclosed she deliberately quitted smoking and was finally expecting after 3 months at the time. She said: “I nearly give up after trying for several months but the baby comes and he is Morton. In order to have a baby, I tried everything such as checking the temperature, counting the date and using different positions. It is important to stay focused and I keep telling the baby to come to me.”
After the first pregnancy, Anita wished to have a second baby but it was unsuccessful. She said: “I was 35 year old and used many methods to have a second baby but nothing happened after several years. I did go for In vitro fertilisation (IVF) and reckon my age is a factor as well. Subsequently, I give up and it is a regret until now.” When Candice asked about the difficulty about IVF, Anita replied the injections, embryo implantation and waiting process: “Feel very helpless during the waiting process. I feel unhappy when the doctor apologises and there is nothing much I can do. Anyway, I try to stay positive as I believe baby is a gift from the god.”
