Every mother is definitely noble and wishes her child is healthy once born. As Margaret Chung’s (鍾麗淇) eldest daughter, Isabella is diagnosed with a rare illness around 6 month old, she shared her parental knowledge and experiences during Mamas’ Day (日日媽媽聲) show hosted by Candice Yu (余安安), Mimi Lo (羅敏莊) and Grace Chan (陳凱琳).
Margaret disclosed Isabella had cramps suddenly around 6 month old and suffered from Wolf–Hirschhorn Syndrome, WHS (四號染色體缺損綜合症): “At the time, the doctor felt very nervous as she had cramps for 1 to 2 hours. I wonder about the things that I can do to make her feel better and if she should see a specialist. Anyway, my daughter’s health is the most important.”
When the doctor pointed Isabella might not live until 2 year old, Margaret said: “Many assume I make huge sacrifices but gain a lot too.” When Candice asked if she was worried about her second pregnancy after 5 years later, Margaret said: “Nope. I will face it bravely and it is my duty to take care of my kids. Having a baby makes me stronger.” She added she did not specially teach her younger daughter to take care of her elder sister but the upbringing made her realised it.
