On 20th June, Benjamin Yuen (袁偉豪), Mandy Wong (黃智雯), Chris Lai (黎諾懿) and Joey Thye (戴祖儀) promoted their new drama, Murder Dairy (刑偵日記) at Have A Big Laugh (開心大綜藝) show. Benjamin exposed he did not want to work with Mandy again: “After we became TV King and Queen 2 years ago, I start to have bad luck and have no work at all.” He replied he had no idea when Elena Kong (江美儀) questioned if Mandy was a jinx to him.
Subsequently, Benjamin clarified it was a joke and knew Mandy would not be mad at him as both were good friends. Mentioning about jobless for 2 years, he said: “Shoot 1 or 2 advertisements only. The economy is poor and the clients have their own choices. I choose to upgrade myself and will continue to do my part well.”
He added he stayed at home frequently during the pandemic. Checking if he suffered from demophobia, Benjamin said: “All artistes have to go through high and low peaks in their careers and it causes an impact in my life. Fortunately, my wife Bowie Cheung (張寶兒) supports me all the way. (She aspires to become landlady?) Bowie has potential and knows stock market but I have no interest in this area. Hence, we get to compromise our weaknesses.”
When asked if they should congratulate Chris for becoming a father again, he replied: “I do not mind the blessings but it is not the right moment yet. Everyone is asking about the baby gender and I will make an announcement at the right timing.”
Finally, Chris urged everyone to pretend clueless and it would be good if his wife was expecting a baby girl: “I reckon my son will know it only when his mother’s belly is growing. As we discuss about it all the time, he assumes we are joking and I will become his counsellor and cherish an additional family member. I really wish to have a daughter and feel contented to have two kids. I will disallow any “accidents” to happen after that.”
