New film, Raging Fire (怒火) starring Donnie Yen (甄子丹) and Nicholas Tse (謝霆鋒) premiered in Hong Kong on 19th August. Action film director Donnie arranged the final battle in the church and understood it was an extremely important scene. Other than the creativity, it was important to maintain the stamina and motivation: “It is an extremely difficult scene. A scene at Peiking road is very shocking and how to maintain that emotion in the next scene? I finally thought of a brilliant plot after thinking for several months and told film director Benny Chan (陳木勝) and Nicholas about it. Many friends who loved action films agree with me and there is a classic scene in Sha Po Lang (殺破狼) movie about taking a police baton and knife to fight against Wu Jing (吳京). I wish to find a breakthrough and decide to let Nicholas challenge Wu Jing this time.”

Upon listening to the plot, Benny asked Donnie: “Are you kidding?” Nicholas was confused and said: “I was clueless after hearing from Donnie. Since I am challenging the classic scene, I specially go back to practise double blade for several months and try to achieve the best effects.” In order to prepare for this scene, Donnie also did push-up and practised his fists: “Nicholas and I discuss about producing exciting yet safe scenes and I am very satisfied with his performance. I feel he has met the expectations and graduated: “We film the scene for 10 days and the results is good after 5 to 6 days. Around 7 to 8 days, I know it will be successful and Wu Jing would contact Nicholas that he did it well.”

As for the church scene, there was a piano and Donnie played Elton John’s classic song immediately and it made the staff felt relaxed. He made safety precaution on the piano so as to take care of Nicholas’s safety. He said: “I know Donnie is worried about me and wraps up the scene after 2 takes only. Anyway, everyone is satisfied with the effects.”
