Michael Tao (陶大宇) joins the industry for 39 years and is best noted for his roles in TVB classic drama, File of Justice (壹號皇庭) and Detective investigation Files (刑事偵緝檔案). Although he reduces his on-screen appearances in recent years, but he manages to make a successful comeback through his own dance choreography and singing style. During an interview in Radio Television Hong Kong show (舊日的足跡) hosted by Candy Chea (車淑梅), Michael confessed he was confused about being labelled as “auntie killer” instead of “young girls killer” as he was considered quite young at the time.
Michael remembered Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) had difficulty to pay the mortgage for his flat at one point and decided to invite him to stage performances, so as to earn money. During the interview, he clarified he was not his saviour and explained he missed Wayne after wrapping up Showbiz Tycoon (影城大亨) drama: “The main reason is because I miss him and plan to improve our friendship by working together again. Wayne is a sentimental man and used to work as a server. I was the host and had to sing, while he disguised as Roman Tam (羅文). I then gave fluorescence green to him and wished him good luck. After several years later, I watched his interview and discovered he kept it until now. Wayne is indeed a sentimental person and deserves to be TV King more than 3 times. His hard work pays off and we must applause upon seeing his achievements. We are good friends and I continue to monitor his news, despite seldom meeting up lately.”
Subsequently, Michael confessed he was jobless for 9 months during the pandemic: “I join the show business for more than 10 years and the worst time is the pandemic in 2021. It is very suffering when I have no work for 9 months and cook and exercise in order to kill boredom. I feel depressed and unhappy even when buying groceries. Finally, I decide to venture in Mainland China when the pandemic is less serious.”
