Grace Chan (陳凱琳) reduces her on-screen appearances and becomes Key Opinion Leader (KOL), after tying the knot with Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) in 2018. According to a news source, she is a hot favourite among the advertisement companies and pointed to earn a high income during the pandemic for the past 2 years. However, Grace denied it at Carol Cheng’s (鄭裕玲) show (口水多過浪花).
Grace expressed she was shocked and felt unhappy upon reading the news initially: “It is not as high as the news reported. It is hard to explain and clarify. I feel grateful to what I have now and will not show branded goods to everyone. I am a thrifty person and Kevin loves it. It is hard to find a job and earn money during the pandemic and makes me feel uncomfortable to discuss about it.” She disclosed she believed she could focus on her career even after becoming a mother but changed her perspective and became KOL: “I wish to fulfil my responsibility as a mother and discover I could have my personal time such as taking beautiful photos when staying at home. It turns out many people like it and find it funny. Hence, I become KOL gradually.”
Apparently, Grace is heavily groomed by TVB once joining the industry. She recalled about pronouncing the words wrongly, while hosting 2016 TVB Anniversary Gala Show (萬千星輝賀台慶2016) and becoming a laughing stock among the netizens. At the time, Carol was present and Grace felt normal when she mentioned about it again: “I even said it wrongly countless of times during the rehearsal and did not realise it, when walking down from the stage.” Right now, Grace’s Cantonese has improved greatly and has no problem in making a conversation.
